DJ Diaries | From Nashville to Alabama We Go!

DJ Diaries | From Nashville to Alabama We Go!

We were honored when Rae reached out to us to help with her and Phillip’s wedding.  I will be honest and say that I wondered if we could bring the same “view of the world” to her wedding that she brings out in her images.  I knew it would start with the music.  As you can imagine Rae doesn’t necessarily listen to Top 40 radio every day.  So there was the challenge of making her dance floor as unique and diverse as she is as a person but also finding those guilty pleasure anthems that everyone knows.  The second part of the equation was setting the tone and mood.  So we brought our open air photo booth, LED uplighting by Chauvet and Dance Lighting. At the end of the night I felt like we were able to capture the personalities of Rae and Phillip.

5 Tips for First Dance Success!

5 Tips for First Dance Success!

It's peak wedding season for the Snyder Entertainment team. For October alone, we will provide entertainment for over 50 events. That's right. That means we will help over 50 couples have a first dance at their wedding reception. We've been too a few weddings before, and we've seen a few awkward first dances. Many couples forget that all eyes will be on them for their first dance, and it could cause a few extra nerves. Maybe you don't like dancing but still want to have a first? Maybe you have two left feet? Want to know a little secret? It doesn't have to be weird! It can be fun, charming, and memorable for you and your guests! We loved the article shared on Loverly so much that we had to share! Read on for 5 tips for first dance success!

Nashville DJ Diary | A Rustic Affair at Saddle Woods Farm

Skylar and Daniel are deeply rooted in the community.  They wanted to make sure that their evening was totally inclusive and highly energetic for their guest.  The idea of relaxed anticipation was apparent from day one and it carried through to the end of the night.  To be honest, I came away feeling as though I had known these two for years.  Their calm and welcoming spirit was appreciated and perfectly expressed through delicate touches on their wedding day.  This was, in my opinion, the perfect recipe for an exciting night!

The events were held in the vintage rustic Saddle Woods Farm in Rutherford County, TN.  The day couldn’t have possibly been better.  Rain had threatened the day before, but by day break on Saturday, the sun was shining and temps were warming.  The setting was perfect with elegant touches of burgundy and white throughout the venue.  Skylar wanted to keep the color scheme more in line with the fall season and the rustic look of the venue allowed her to do just that.  Exposed wood and tasteful splashes of greenery helped break up the colors both inside and out.  The ceremony took place in the woods next to the barn where a minor pre-reception was held between the ceremony and dinner.  Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” provided the soundtrack to the wedding party introductions.  It was obvious at this point, we were in for a huge celebration. Spirited celebrations began to sporadically take place as the anticipation began to hit a fever pitch for Skylar and Daniel’s introduction.  The barn erupted in loud applause from the 150+ in attendance when “Mr.  & Mrs. Daniel Palo” were introduced for the first time!

Dinner was a wonderful feast made up of Chicken, Mac ‘N Cheese, and all the fixing’s provided by Two Fat Men Catering of Lebanon, TN.  The dinner was followed by the cake cutting featuring music from The Average White Band (Cut The Cake).  Daniel had played baseball at MTSU and so instead of doing a Groom’s Cake, he elected to have Baseball designed cupcakes for guest.  A wonderfully personal touch to the evening’s sugary selections.  The Matron of Honor, Anna Surratt and Best Man, Conlon Palo shared a few words with both the guest and Bride and Groom prior to the special dances.

First dance for Daniel and Skylar was a wonderful song by the New Basement Tapes “When I Get My Hands On You”.  Skylar then elected to dance with her father, Tommy McRae, to the song “Send Me On My Way” by Rusted Root.  Daniel closed out the special dances with a spin around the dance floor with his grandmother, Linell Palo, to the song “Simple Man” by Lynard Skynard.  From the moment the special dancing ended to the sendoff, the dance floor was electric and PACKED!

Some of the songs Daniel and Skylar wanted to make sure they got to dance to were party favorites “Cupid Shuffle” and “Watch Me”.  They also wanted to make sure Van Halen’s classic, “Jump”, was played which ended up getting everyone together for one of many dance circles.  It was unbelievable.  The photobooth was alive all night long bustling with activity from the moment it was turned on.  Over 150 photos were taken and preserved in a special scrap book for Daniel and Skylar to have compliments of Snyder Entertainment.

The send off included a VERY large crowd with hands filled with glow sticks leading to a waiting Land Rover.  The party continued at a local bar in Murfreesboro where all guest were invited to attend.  A perfect night full of memories and celebration came to an end almost as quickly as they tied the knot.

We had the chance to work with some very amazing vendors including the folks at Saddle Woods Farm (Venue), Two Vintage Monkey’s (Wedding Planning), Two Fat Men Catering (Food), She and Him Weddings (Photographer), and Taylor Knose (Videographer).

We congratulate Daniel and Skylar and wish them nothing but success and happiness!

Nashville Bridesmaid Diary | "We Are Family. I Got All My Sisters With Me!"

I'm so excited about this edition of DJ Diaries because I'm getting to write it from MY experience. No, I wasn't the DJ; but, I was a bridesmaid! My brother and new sister-in-law got married on September 26th at The Wren's Nest in Murfreesboro. Even the rain couldn't take away from the beauty surrounding the day! Brian provided the soundtrack to my killer dance moves, and I can honestly say that he knows how to keep a party on it's feet! Here is the bridesmaid diary from my brother's wedding!

College Game Day vs. Your Wedding Day

College Game Day vs. Your Wedding Day

by the pages and pages of articles that appeared. New York Times even did an article about how horrible it was to plan a wedding during college football season.  Since last weekend was the official beginning of the college season, I felt it appropriate to do a special article of my own on weddings in the fall…also know as football season.

After reading some of the articles, my first thought was, “Don’t these people have way more important topics to be writing about?” It’s New York Times for goodness sakes. My second thought was, ”Shucks, they make some ridiculous but true points.”

Wedding Trends | Ashley's Fall Finds!

Wedding Trends | Ashley's Fall Finds!

It's officially fall! The Snyder team is not only excited for the change in season, but we are thankful! The landscape will change to different hues of warm reds, yellows, oranges, and browns and the temperature will be borderline perfect: warm during the wedding ceremony and cool for the dance reception! What better way to celebrate the seasons changing (and the start of our busiest months) than with my favorite fall wedding trends!

Nashville DJ Diary | Why You Should Film Your Wedding.

This week's DJ Diary entry is a little different from our usual entry. This entry is about why you should, if at all possible, have your wedding captured on film. You will see many of our blogs featuring a highlight video filmed and edited by our team, but that's only a tiny glimpse into the wedding day that we use for us. I can promise you that capturing the day through a video camera will be something you never regret!
