Skylar and Daniel are deeply rooted in the community. They wanted to make sure that their evening was totally inclusive and highly energetic for their guest. The idea of relaxed anticipation was apparent from day one and it carried through to the end of the night. To be honest, I came away feeling as though I had known these two for years. Their calm and welcoming spirit was appreciated and perfectly expressed through delicate touches on their wedding day. This was, in my opinion, the perfect recipe for an exciting night!
The events were held in the vintage rustic Saddle Woods Farm in Rutherford County, TN. The day couldn’t have possibly been better. Rain had threatened the day before, but by day break on Saturday, the sun was shining and temps were warming. The setting was perfect with elegant touches of burgundy and white throughout the venue. Skylar wanted to keep the color scheme more in line with the fall season and the rustic look of the venue allowed her to do just that. Exposed wood and tasteful splashes of greenery helped break up the colors both inside and out. The ceremony took place in the woods next to the barn where a minor pre-reception was held between the ceremony and dinner. Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” provided the soundtrack to the wedding party introductions. It was obvious at this point, we were in for a huge celebration. Spirited celebrations began to sporadically take place as the anticipation began to hit a fever pitch for Skylar and Daniel’s introduction. The barn erupted in loud applause from the 150+ in attendance when “Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Palo” were introduced for the first time!
Dinner was a wonderful feast made up of Chicken, Mac ‘N Cheese, and all the fixing’s provided by Two Fat Men Catering of Lebanon, TN. The dinner was followed by the cake cutting featuring music from The Average White Band (Cut The Cake). Daniel had played baseball at MTSU and so instead of doing a Groom’s Cake, he elected to have Baseball designed cupcakes for guest. A wonderfully personal touch to the evening’s sugary selections. The Matron of Honor, Anna Surratt and Best Man, Conlon Palo shared a few words with both the guest and Bride and Groom prior to the special dances.
First dance for Daniel and Skylar was a wonderful song by the New Basement Tapes “When I Get My Hands On You”. Skylar then elected to dance with her father, Tommy McRae, to the song “Send Me On My Way” by Rusted Root. Daniel closed out the special dances with a spin around the dance floor with his grandmother, Linell Palo, to the song “Simple Man” by Lynard Skynard. From the moment the special dancing ended to the sendoff, the dance floor was electric and PACKED!
Some of the songs Daniel and Skylar wanted to make sure they got to dance to were party favorites “Cupid Shuffle” and “Watch Me”. They also wanted to make sure Van Halen’s classic, “Jump”, was played which ended up getting everyone together for one of many dance circles. It was unbelievable. The photobooth was alive all night long bustling with activity from the moment it was turned on. Over 150 photos were taken and preserved in a special scrap book for Daniel and Skylar to have compliments of Snyder Entertainment.
The send off included a VERY large crowd with hands filled with glow sticks leading to a waiting Land Rover. The party continued at a local bar in Murfreesboro where all guest were invited to attend. A perfect night full of memories and celebration came to an end almost as quickly as they tied the knot.
We had the chance to work with some very amazing vendors including the folks at Saddle Woods Farm (Venue), Two Vintage Monkey’s (Wedding Planning), Two Fat Men Catering (Food), She and Him Weddings (Photographer), and Taylor Knose (Videographer).
We congratulate Daniel and Skylar and wish them nothing but success and happiness!
