When people think of Nashville Weddings, the first thought for most people is outdoor country weddings with sweet tea and lemonade served along with some down home cookin' and country music playing in the background, and all the boys and girls getting down on the farm and cuttin' a rug out in the barn!! And that is the exact setting for our newest couple out at the amazing Birdsong Events in Ashland City!! Nashville has some of the most beautiful countryside settings, so why not surround yourself with these breathtaking views on your wedding day?
Kenneth and Shelby Kennedy did just that! A beautiful ceremony outside on the front law of Birdsong followed by a very fun cocktail hour filled with corn hole, a giant checkers board game and a popcorn booth! Kage (Kenneth's nickname and pronounce KG) & Shelby put a lot of thought into the reception when it came to their guests enjoyment! While they were having their post ceremony picture session, their guests could enjoy music while enjoying some of there favorite games! And for the food, good ole fried chicken and BBQ was on the menu. It gave off the kind of aroma that you could smell a mile down the road and know that there was a big "to-do" going on.
As we were getting the wedding party lined up for introductions, all of the bridesmaids and groomsman were getting pumped up for their intros...and rightfully so!! Shelby and Kage chose a pretty spectacular intro song..."Gonna Fly Now" the theme song from the movie "Rocky"!! And when it comes to setting the tone for your wedding day, the introduction of the wedding party/Bride & Groom is undoubtedly that moment!! Along with country music from George Strait to Tim McGraw, we were also playing some classic rock from John Mellencamp, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and many more! When it comes to playing music during dinner, it obviously needs to be enjoyable, but it also needs to set the tone for the rest of the evening. I feel like I'm relaying a message to everyone at that time through the music I play...that while everyone is enjoying their cocktails and dinner, we're only just getting started!!
After their cake cutting ceremony, we all moved down to the barn down the hill from the dinner area where we continue with the First Dances. Shelby & Kage chose the song "Bloom" by the Paper Kites for the first dance and it came at the perfect timing as the sum set on the horizon and the stars came out!! Definitely a beautiful sight on a Tennessee Sunday Night!!
As the dance floor opened, we played some classic tunes from KC and the Sunshine Band and James Brown and quickly transitioned into some of today's top hits. Shortly after playing "Shut Up And Dance" by Walk The Moon, we formed a Soul Train dance line and started "Uptown Funk" while 2 people danced down the line and the photographers from Frozen Exposure Photography caught every moment!!
At the end if the night as the sparklers were being lit and our newly weds were making their exit, we started up one of the more fun songs to exit the party "Now That We Found Love" by HeVy D & the Boys! My mind always goes back to the movie "Hitch" and all those awesome dance moves!!
So there you have it!! Classic outdoor Nashville wedding!! We want to wish Kage and Shelby a lifetime full of happiness! Thank you for letting us be part of such a special moment in your lives! We also must thank the Birdsong Event's team for being such great host!
